Pakistan received bronze medal after defeating South Korea from 5-2 in the final showdown of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.

The thrilling match was held at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, China.

Thanks to Sufyan Khan and Hannan Shahid for smashing two goals each while Roman Khan netted one goal, leading his team towards the win.

It is worth noting that the national Hockey Team have ended up at the third position in the Asian tournament.

Additionally, Sufyan has been named the Player of the Match for his two goals from penalty corners.

Remember, Pakistan faced defeat against the hosts China in the penalty shootout on Monday. This was the first time in tournament’s history China advanced to the finals.

India defeated South Korea with 4-1 in the second semi-final held on September 16.

It is worth noting that India will be lifting the fifth Asian Champions Trophy if they will defeat China in the final match of the Hockey Champions tournament.

In a thrilling semi-final clash at the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, China secured their place in the final after a dramatic penalty shootout against Pakistan at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, China.

The match remained tense and closely contested throughout, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination.

Despite their efforts, Pakistan struggled to convert their chances during the shootout, ultimately losing to China after missing four consecutive penalties. This allowed China to advance with a 2-0 win in shootout, much to the disappointment of the Pakistani side and their supporters.

Pakistan on Saturday were handed a 2-1 loss by arch-rivals India during their match in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 played at the Moqi Training Base, Hulunbuir, China.

During the match today, Pakistan secured an early lead courtesy of Hannan Shahid’s skillfull pass to Ahmad Nadeem who managed to find the back of the net.

However, India soon came back to score consecutive goals to turn the scoreboard in their favour.

The third and fourth quarters were goalless as both teams attacked at respective nets on many occasions.

For India, both goals were scored by Captain Harmanpreet Singh with the second one coming in the second quarter.

Both Pakistan and India have qualified for the semi-finals with the latter finishing the round stage unbeaten to secure the top position on the points table after handing down Pakistan their first defeat of the tournament.

Pakistan recorded a 5-1 win over China on Thursday while they defeated Japan in their third game.

The national side’s first two games ended in a draw against Malaysia and South Korea, respectively.

The round matches will culminate today, whereas the semi-finals will be played on September 17.

Pakistan on Wednesday defeated Japan 2-1 to register their first win of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, China.

The first goal was scored by Nadeem Ahmed in the first quarter but later it was equalised as Japan scored a goal in the second quarter.

In the 10th minute of the second quarter, Sufyan Khan scored a goal to restore Pakistan’s lead which was enough to secure a win.

It must be noted that Pakistan’s first two games ended in a draw.

The Green Shirts’ clash against South Korea on Monday ended in a 2-2 draw after they failed to defend their two-goal lead.

South Korea took the lead by scoring a goal in the second quarter, which remained intact until the third quarter. Pakistan’s team could not score any goals up to the third quarter and was losing by one goal.

However, in the fourth quarter, the Pakistan team made an impressive comeback, with Hanan Shahid scoring two quick goals.

But before the match could end, Korea scored another goal to level the game.

On Sunday, Pakistan’s match against Malaysia also ended in a 2-2 draw.

Pakistan will play China on September 12 followed by India on September 14.
