Pakistani TV host and actress Nadia Khan has issued a statement after facing criticism for revealing actress Hiba Bukhari’s pregnancy on a television show.

During a recent programme, Nadia shared that Hiba Bukhari and her actor husband Arez Ahmed are expecting their first child.

The couple had kept the news private, and Nadia Khan’s disclosure drew backlash from social media users, who argued that the couple’s personal matters should have been respected.

Responding to the criticism, Nadia explained that the news was casually shared by Arez Ahmed during filming, without any instruction to keep it private.

“I was never told by Arez to keep the news a secret,” she said.

“He and Hiba are close friends of mine, and if they had wanted this to remain confidential, I would have respected their wish.”

Nadia Khan added that she did not intend to “break” any private news and was merely sharing a joyful moment.

She emphasised that it wasn’t a new revelation, but something already known among their circle.

Neither Hiba Bukhari nor Arez Ahmed have publicly commented on the matter since the incident.

The couple, who married in 2022, have chosen to stay quiet on social media regarding their personal lives.
