‘Taara/Diamonds’: Fawad Khan releases new track with US media…
Pakistani singer and actor Fawad Khan is featured in the latest electronic pop track, “Taara/Diamonds,” a collaborative project by Seattle-based production house MTG.
The highly anticipated music video, released on Saturday, August 10, 2024, showcases a hybrid remix of Ali Azmat’s popular track “Taara Jala” and global pop sensation Rihanna’s 2012 hit “Diamonds.”
The song combines a catchy tune with a tribute to numerous living and deceased artists, singers, painters, and other individuals who have strived to bring about positive change.
The music video features Fawad Khan along with other notable figures, including prominent Pakistani faces. It also highlights the achievements of Nora Al-Matrooshi, the first Arab woman from the United Arab Emirates to graduate from NASA’s astronaut programme, and the makers of the acclaimed film Joyland, who won a prestigious award at the Cannes Film Festival.
MTG premiered the song on July 27, and the music video, directed by MTG’s founder Maheen Mustafa, is now available on all streaming platforms.
In an MTG press release, Fawad Khan expressed his admiration for the artists involved: “The incredible icons featured in the new MTG music video are formidable talents. Their achievements inspire and uplift people around the world, including myself.”
Maria Unera, one of the featured artists, shared her excitement about the project, emphasising its unique nature and her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “The initiative really stood out for me and made me more keen to work with everyone involved in this project,” she stated. “Can’t wait for everyone to check out what we worked on.”
Bilal Ali echoed similar sentiments, describing the collaboration as “brilliant” and expressing his hope that listeners will appreciate their effort. “We hope we did them justice and that people appreciate our humble attempt,” Bilal remarked.
