MUMBAI: Zee MD Punit Goenka has acquired a majority stake in Maverick Media, a company that builds and refurbishes single screen theatres, for an undisclosed amount. Goenka, who is also the promoter of Zee, has made this stake-purchase in his personal capacity.
“While my professional commitments continue to remain a priority (referring to his executive position at Zee), I believe that as key members of the fraternity, it is our collective responsibility to enhance the growth opportunities for all segments in the media value chain, and hence I have taken this decision in my personal capacity,” Goenka said.
