PCB official under probe for conflict of interest |…
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an investigation into a senior official accused of a conflict of interest.
The official’s company allegedly participated in a bidding process for outdoor billboard advertising, leading to the formation of an inquiry committee.
The committee’s findings will determine any subsequent actions.
Recently, the PCB issued an advertisement for the pre-qualification of outdoor billboard advertising. Among the bids submitted, one was from a company linked to an official from the HR department.
Upon discovery, the company was disqualified, and an investigation into the official’s potential conflict of interest and other allegations was initiated.
Initially, the official denied any connection to the company but later admitted involvement. Interestingly, this official has been part of several bid committees in the past.
The final action will be based on the investigation’s results, though some colleagues are reportedly trying to protect him.
Sources close to the matter stated that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is committed to transparency and will base his decisions on facts.
If found guilty of wrongdoing, the official will face strict consequences.
Additionally, sources revealed that a former director had previously awarded contracts to his own companies, amassing significant wealth, though action was taken against him in a separate case.
When contacted, PCB officials declined to comment, stating that the board will maintain its policy of not discussing ongoing investigations publicly.
