Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are now officially engaged, and superstar Nagarjuna shared the first images from their private ceremony, which took place early on August 8, 2024. The couple’s elegant and traditional engagement ceremony has captured the attention of both fans and fashionistas.
Designer Manish Malhotra’s choice for Sobhita Dhulipala’s engagement attire is evidence of her strong ties to her Telugu roots. Sobhita’s attire, adorned with a fusion of fabrics that were specifically procured from Andhra Pradesh’s weaving villages, is a celebration of contemporary elegance as well as a nod to history.
She was dressed in a gorgeous golden blush Uppada silk saree that was evocative of the Kanakaambaram, a traditional temple flower that Telugu women frequently don. Intricate designs of the immortal Padmam (lotus), which stands for beauty and purity, were also incorporated on the saree. Her clothing’s silhouette is derived from the traditional half-saree, which is worn by young ladies in South India, and is influenced by the paintings of the renowned Telugu artist ‘Bapu.’
Naga Chaitanya wore a traditional three-piece Andhra Pradeshi men’s outfit consisting of Pattu pancha, laalchi, and kanduva, which complemented Sobhita’s traditional dress. His combination of muted gold tussar silk and ivory brocade, accentuated with antique gold zari dori work, radiated a timeless sophistication and grace.
